The latest developer video for The Settlers 7 focuses on the deep customization features that will be available to players. The Mapforge feature allows players to adjust almost every aspect of a map, significantly changing up gameplay, so that no game plays quit the same way twice. Players will also get Castleforge, which lets players personalize their castles with new components that can be imported into each play through. This castle also acts as a sort of online avatar tied into the new social network features, so players can show off their creativity and how well they do in the game.
The Settlers 7 is expected to release later this month for PC and Mac.

As promised, 2K Games has released the first downloadable content for BioShock 2. We have already reported on the features in the new Sinclair Solutions Test Pack but today we’ve got news on a special sale for the downloadable version of the game from Microsoft’s Games For Windows Live.
This is a little complicated but worth it so stick with us. Starting on Friday and ending on Monday you can download and purchase BioShock 2 via the Games For Windows Live client for $37.49, 25 percent off its normal price. But here’s the kicker; if you buy the game and also purchase the Sinclair Solutions DLC pack (which costs 400 Microsoft Points) during the sale period, Microsoft will add 800 Microsoft points to your Games For Windows Live account. That’s about $10 worth of points that can be used for other downloadable items. The bad news? The points will be awarded a month after the sale is over.

It’s been a week since GoG.com has added an Activision-owned game to its DRM-free line up but today they continue with the addition of Gabriel Knight 3 to its library. The adventure game, first released back in 1999, is the third (and as it turned out final) game in the classic franchise that was originally published by Sierra Online.
Sub-titled Blood of the Sacred-Blood of the Damned, the game is the first in the series to use full 3D graphics (the first was 2D while the second was a mix of 2D and full motion video). A fourth Gabriel Knight title was in some kind of planning stages but was never released. In the meantime we are still awaiting the release of Gray Matter, the title that will mark the return of Gabriel Knight’s creator Jane Jensen to the industry. In the meantime GoG.com has Gabriel Knight 3 available for download for $5.99.
