How am I getting a dirty disc error on Xbox 360 games installed to my hard drive?
I have no problem playing games from the disc. However, I am not able to play a game that I have installed to the hard drive without the Xbox 360 telling me it cannot read the disc. Is it time to get a new hard drive?

yeah same thing happened to me months ago. what you have to do is
1)clean the disk with a dab of rubbing alcohol
2)keep xbox in a well ventilated area
3)stop using the disk tray as a cup holder
Hope that helps!

You can try this…
1.) First delete the installed game from your hard drive.
2.) Go to your system settings and select memory.
3.) Highlight (don’t click) Hard Drive.
4.) Press these buttons in order to clear your hard drive’s cache:
x, x, left bumper, right bumper, x, x.
5.) Reinstall the game.
It might help, worth a shot, before shelling out more money for another hard drive. The downside of clearing your hard drive is you’ll have to re-download the patches to your games when you pop them in again (if your 360 is connected online, that is). If this doesn’t help, try installing another game and see if that plays, if it does, maybe it’s something wrong with that disc trying to install onto the hard drive?
