That is one reason more why Intel made it’s first desecrate gpu since the I740 with 32 modernized p55c x86 cores just to be more flexible in terms of being programmable like a conventional cpu. PS they already have the chip but Intel being Intel they delayed it so they can start all over again to redevelop the driver.

Good to see you here buddy I love your age of conan videos, And yes Dx11 would be a fairly easy change as there isn’t so much stuff to tweak as in DX10, But then again we know Funcom isn’t the fastest delivering company when it comes to content so we’ll have to wait.

direct x relies on certain hardware atributes, the api deisgn for dx 10.1 knows only how to utilise dx 10.1 card architectures. dx 11 will know how to utilise dx 10.1 cards, but only if the functions used for a particular game are apart of the dx10.1 package. calling a dx11 function with dx11 specific code, on a dx 10 card will cause complete failure. its a rigid system, and one used to keep to consumers buying.

To bad it is a “subset” meaning it has most DX10 instructions with the addition of new ones but hey it will be faster some say.

too bad, it’s a new API, you don’t make something new and expect it to work on old hardware not designed for it

It would be nice is some or most of DX11were to be available on DX10 and 10.1 cards like the 4870 or the 9800gt.

The tank is from Microsofts DirectX SDK

Is that tank from Warhammer or something?

That’s entirely possible. WHEN it goes DX11 is an entirely different story, however. It didn’t get DX10 until months after release.

Could Age of Conan go Dx11 when it’s out?
