PC gamers who’ve kicked it old-school with Halo: Combat Evolved will get a nice piece of flair for their armor in Halo: Reach, according to plans Bungie’s made to reward loyal gamers. More »
What’s the deal with the PC version of Battlefield 1943? We still don’t know for sure. The long-since-presumed-dead port of DICE’s uber popular PlayStation Network and Xbox LIVE Arcade game is officially still on the way, but refunds are now being issued to those who want out.
Here’s the word from an EA rep, courtesy of VG247: “All pre-orders can be canceled with refund at any time and we do not have any further information at this time about a release date for the PC version of Battlefield 1943.” Same old same old.
My guess is DICE has its hands completely full with Battlefield 3 and the multiplayer component of Medal of Honor. If that’s correct, guys, don’t say anything. Even still, I’m really starting to question whether PC gamers will ever see their promised 1943 release.

Yes, there have been 25 video blogs of Kings and Castles since developer Gas Powered Games announced the development of the upcoming fantasy RTS game. For this important milestone, the video blog episode this week is, well, a fairly typical one for the series. That is to say, this video is full of craziness.
This week the episode gives us some more info on what mod support will be put into Kings and Castles as the dev team talks about making things simple for mod makers. Plus a new unit is introduced, more archer footage, a preview of showing a design meeting, and more stuff. Here’s to 25 more episodes like this.

It seems like a familiar story: a baseball veteran gets to the end of his contract, can’t sign another one, and finds new life, and love, in another country. In this case, it’s EA Sports’ long lost MVP Baseball 2005. More »
Have you seen a golden wrench in the wilds of Team Fortress 2? I haven’t, but I don’t play that often and only 100 of them were handed out to totally random people.
Not everyone was very happy about that, and cries about the game not being as much fun with the golden wrenches around went out. One of these golden wrenches went to WiNGSPANTT and he surprisingly agrees with all the complaints despite the fact that the golden wrench does nothing but aid him. So he’s going to destroy it, but he’s doing it in the name of good.
Between now and Aug. 23 WiNGSPANTT is collecting donations for Child’s Play. Then on Aug. 31 he and six other golden wrench owners who have joined him will destroy their wrenches for good. The event has already raised more than $4,700 by promising to destroy one of the rarest items in gaming, and they’re hoping to bring in more. If you wish to applaud the sacrifice these seven gamers are making you can head over to Top Tier Tactics and donate.

Yes, there are still a number of people who play the PC and Mac versions of Halo online. Indeed, since Microsoft shut down the original Xbox Live service for the first Xbox console, players of Gearbox Software‘s port of Bungie‘s first person shooter are the only ones now that can play the sci-fi first person shooter online. Now owners of Halo for the PC and Mac will be getting something extra if they purchase Halo: Reach, the upcoming and final Xbox 360 Halo game from Bungie.
According to the Bungie forums, owners of both the Mac and PC ports of Halo (that includes the Halo: Custom Edition from Gearbox) that still have their multiplayer key and have played the game in online multiplayer matches up until May 26,, 2010 will be able to use the key to get a tiny extra in Halo: Reach. The forum message from Bungie’s Roger “Sawnose” Wolfso states, “The reward is a small ‘visual flair’, as was described during the last days of Halo 2 for players of that game.” He adds, ” … it’s just a little indication that people have been part of a certain Halo community for a while, and we wanted to give them a nod.” Sorry owners of the PC port of Halo 2; you don’t get anything as “Bungie wasn’t involved in that port.” More info on exactly how to use the key in the game will be revealed in the coming weeks.
